So as title says really , got my full sus stolen a few weeks back and fancy a change to a hardtail for mucking about on. I always felt over biked at my local Bristol trail Ashton Court. On the odd trips to Wales the full sus was nice but I somehow missed the playfulness of a hardtail.

Depends on preference really
Shimano, 2x10, 14kg
SRAM, 1x11, 12kg
Based on that the Bird I would choose.0 -
Never ridden a 1x11 but willing to give it a go.
14kg does seem heavy!Bird AM Zero (On Order )

With the lifetime transferable warranty and local back up I'd take the Bird.
But I'm biased as they are friends of mine.I don't do smileys.

I think the Bird is winning.
Quite like the look of the Zero TR as well but the long(er) wheelbase and chainstays scare me!Bird AM Zero (On Order )

Give them a call and talk about it. Experienced riders and will give you proper advice, not sales spiel.
They want happy customers - the best salesmen.I don't do smileys.

I've ordered a Bird Zero TR in a fetching green. Just waiting for the call to say its ready so I can go get it. Should be a few weeks yet though, I cant wait!Cannondale CAAD 10

The longer stays on the TR makes it very stable and ultimately it covers ground very quickly. The AM is more of a fun, chuckable bike and a little more aggressive. That's not the say the TR isn't fun either, just a little more focused on covering ground but still really capable.Bird Aeris : Trek Remedy 9.9 29er : Trek Procaliber 9.8 SL0

Nice! Did you go for something not in stock then?
I'm being a dumbass too - where are the color options on the website? I can only see pics of the TR in grey.Bird AM Zero (On Order )

Yeah the stock of medium to frames is due in early may. I also went for the nx-11 which is also due in early may. Here's some pics of the green frame http://www.birdmtb.com/green-zero-tr/
If you go to spec your bike, after you choose your groupset and frame size it should give you colour options.Cannondale CAAD 10

That's nice looking!
Trivial I know but I much prefer the look of the Rockshox fork over the X Fusion, especially with the black stanchions.Bird AM Zero (On Order )
