Burnt Tongue

Anyone else get a feeling like you've burnt the tip of your tongue after cycling?
I notice that after commuting to work for a couple of days this comes and doesn't go until a few days have passed since the last ride. I even had it for 4 days after I went to Ireland, which as the air comes straight from the Atlantic 1/4 mile away is extremely fresh! It generally subsides over a weekend but is back by Tuesday.
Its been checked by my dentist and there's nothing that might occur normally, so I can only guess its caused by pollution and particulate inhalation. I do tend to cycle along with my mouth slightly open.

Glossodynia can be associated with type II diabetes - is that something you suffer from? Don't get panicky though; it is not diagnostic in any way - there are numerous causes of glossodynia / burning mouth syndrome including "it just happens - nothing to worry about" I would mention to my local sawbones next time0

"You could be dying, but don't worry too much"
