Wheel upgrade question

Hi
I've had my Trek X-Cal 9 2014, since 2014 and Im looking to get a new wheelset as the wheels that came with it (Bontrager at-850 29inch), well, the back wheel, is becoming a bit of a nightmare, spokes breaking regularly. Could do with getting the whole wheel relaced but feel like a change of wheels is in order.
The only problem is that it has got QR front and back, it's the thin qr's, 5mm not 9 and I'm having a problem finding replacements. Would 9mm qr fit? Can anyone recommend some wheelsets around £2-300? I know I'm not getting light or particularly strong for that money either. I ride mainly xc and a bit of trail.
Thanks
Thanks

Standard front QR is 9mm, rear is 10mm. The skewers may be 5mm, but they go inside the axles.I don't do smileys.
