6800 Front Derailleur
Hi, we've a lot of serious hills here and a combination of filthy winter roads and the inner limit screw of the front mech probably being slightly out of adjustment has worn away some of the rubbing strip on the inside of the derailleur cage. Anyone know if this strip is replaceable? Thanks.

It is. See http://si.shimano.com/#seriesList/38 and the FD-6800 section. The exploded view will give you the part number (Y5P 116000) and the dealer manual contains instructions on page 17 for how to actually do the replacement0

Great, thanks for the link and the detail. I'd never have thought to call it a skid plate but now I know!0

How bad is it damaged ? if it is not too extensive it shouldn't really matter. The skid plate is only there to quiet the cage from chain slap or when shifting.0

I recently replaced my skid plate on a 5800. It's the same as the 6800. I bought 2 from sjs cycles at £0.99 each
