Bit versus proper tools

I was getting tired of messing with spacers/bolts/rounding out bottom bracket cups (socket head/spanner) and bit so bought this for the Shimano/SRAM bike

I'm thinking of replacing the Campag tool with something like this
http://bbbcycling.com/accessories/works ... ls/BTL-12C
So have a proper Shimano & Campagolo wrench for the bottom brackets.
I guess they will work with the cassettes too? or guess not since cassttes don't have thread like the BB spindle..
That Shimano BTL-20L has a bolt in the middle which screws into the BB spindle thread and locks in place (so it can't plop out whilst removing or tightening) Does the Campag tool also have this? I can see a pin but can't see if it's smooth or threaded.
I've got these

and
http://www.tweekscycles.com/bike-access ... ation-tool
Also I've got a couple of chain whips, the Lifeline one with a lock ring tool (single speed) and a few others in my tool set, how do I tell which is for different chains? For some reason one was slipping on the cassette (maybe cassette was worn?)
I guess it should sit on the teeth and if it's wrong one it won't fit (I had a 3/32 chain with a free 1/8" sprocket and tested how it fits - it doesn't)

Say... That's a nice bike..

Always best to have the right tools!
A tool for the bottom bracket is not going to fit cassettes and visa versa.
You will need separate tools.
Can't comment on the Campagnolo bottom bracket though, sorry.0 -
Sure about that? Those campag and shimano bottom bracket tools do fit the cassettes (otherwise I'd need four sets)
Generally the bit tool will work, if you fit a bolt through the tool, into the BB axle, then use a washer. It's a chore though. Similar to using the bit on the cassette then fitting QR skewer.Say... That's a nice bike..

I'm fairly sure they are not interchangeable.
I use Shimano gear and I need a separate cassette and bottom bracket tool.0
