Yesterday I got a new Trek Émonda SL 6 sent unassembled. No problem but when I finished assembling I found plastic bag containing two washers and two small metal pieces. Can someone out there tell what this is? See picture!photo.php?fbid=10208502867144903&set=a.1494111788472.67782.1104378409&type=3&theater

the two rings look like spacers/washers that could be to do with the headset

but you've posted a non-image url as an image

    this might work13012633_10208502867144903_992308435289209844_n.jpg?oh=94e28c55d5c8ceb1899f56e4179a6528&oe=57A3E98A

It's hard to tell from the scale, but maybe cassette spacers?

Edit: Got 28.6 stamped on them, so likely something to do with the seatpost?

The small metal squares are the stick on pads that go behind a Di2 front derailleur to protect the frame from the yaw adjustment screw. You choose whichever one best fits the profile of the frame.

...and yes, the washers are headset spacers. 1 1/8" so top bearing only if you have a tapered headset; they stop the headset dust cover binding on the frame if the bearing is too shallow.
