Look keo problem?
After a bit of help.
I have look keos on my training bike (only bought them last week). First ride I had a strange sensation in the left pedal, like my foot was rolling outwards.
I stopped & checked the cleats and made sure the pedal was thight. Problem persisted though. When I got home I checked them thoroughly & there is no play at all, the bearings are silky smooth (as you would expect for a brand new pedal) and I removed them & put them back on just to make sure they were threaded correctly.
Commuted to work this morning and problem is still there. Feels like the pedal is wobbling outwards.
Any ideas what this could be? How to solve?
Do they sound faulty?
Thanks

Could it be the position of the cleats on the shoe? If it is slightly different to the old ones you'll probably feel it. I changed some badly worn Shimano cleats recently and I know they new ones went back in the same place, I just had to line them up with the dirt on the bottom of the shoe, they felt quite different for a week or two, just because there was less play and the foot was held in a slightly different position.0

Thanks for your reply.
I don't think its the cleat. I tried them in my P1s last night and they were fine.
Must admit, having just done a quick google search i am now quite concerned that it is the axle (lots of horror stories about the axle actually snapping and the early signs are a feeling of the pedal wobbling) and i have a 25mile commute home yet as well0 -
I had a Look Keo spindle snap a few years back..........at 20mph as I was just getting out of the saddle to give it some gas. Ouch! The car driver behind did an emergency stop and well.......I survived albeit battered a bit.
Look did have a recall on some, but again that was years ago and I'd originally missed the recall adverts blah blah.
Worth having a word with your local stockist just in case?
Btw - I sent my broken pedals back to Madison who supplied x2 upgraded pairs (no doubt to shut me up.......it did but I'm cheap!)0 -
Thanks for the replies. I sent the pedals back and they were replaced (apparently the first set had a faulty axle). Commuted in today on the replacements and there is massive play in the right pedal.
These will be going back as well.
I'm assuming i'm just having bad luck with them but i think this time i will ask for a refund.0 -

Play or float? Std keo cleats (grey) have c5deg of float. T0 -
Floating pedals for me has usually been a sign of a lose FSA crankarmRule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
