Fork upgrade, or preserve the geometry?

Hey people,
So I've only ever ridden hardtails, and decided to build up a 160mm am bike which quickly got out of hand, I've now come across a great deal on a new calibre bossnut so I'm pretty much decided I want to get it and am going to sell off the bits I've acquired.
Im generally mostly on my front wheel when on my hardtails and thre trail is downhill, and I've got a manitou mattoc pro ready from the abandoned build which I thought I would just install on the new bike, but the travel is 140mm (the bike is 130) and the a2c length is 15mm longer than the sektor it comes with.
I can't decide between the pro's and cons, I do climb slow and hit the downhills fast so the burlier fork sounds good, but then I'm raising the head tube by 15mm and don't know if this will affect the whole thing too much and I should just sell the fork. Anyone with any experience doing this on a similar bike, or have knowledge in this area?
Thanks
Ross
