Just had a pretty reasonable quote last night from Darren @ pedalcover and will more than likely be going with them as house insurance is due at the end of the month.
But as usual the other half is more worried about the house stuff than my bikes... They are underwritten by AXA so i cant see there being many issues.
So before i get the credit card out, has anyone made a claim, and how was it handled etc?
Thanks, Dan

I haven't claimed with my Pedalcover policy, but one of the reasons I chose them was because I had an M&S policy years ago and they were underwritten by Axa (in fact, the policies are near identical except for the higher bike values with Pedalcover).
I claimed under that for a stolen bike and was paid by transfer within 10 minutes of the phone call. They checked the current price 'new' of the bike online (the bike was 2 years old) and gave me the new RRP value of the equivalent bike. None of this 'preferred supplier' business.
I daresay for much more expensive bikes (it was worth £650) or custom jobs, then an assessor may be involved, but I'm very happy to be using AXA again.0 -
Ah good stuff thanks. I have just ordered a Colnago C60 on monday, hence wanting the best cover i can get.
I Spoke to Darren on the phone for 20 mins and he did go through pretty much everything so that is all good.
I expect by friday i will have a policy with them.
Thanks again. My winter bike is exactly the same as my summer bike,,, but dirty...0
