Doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun, then again, I suppose it wasn't meant to be.
Single speed, 59lb bike with a similar weight in kit 2000 miles and it wasn't flat at all.
Not an energy bar or padded bib shorts in sight

    last time I did the Eroica in Tuscany, there was a bunch of Swiss men with army bikes of the beginning of the 20th century... about 60 lb each, to carry up the 16% slope of Monte Sante Marie... quite something

    Pah, that article does not use the word EPIC at least once so therefore they must have been a load of big jessies. FWIW, I did an EPIC 18 miler at the w/e.
