Converting Novatec hub Shimano to Campag
OK, I'll try and explain this as best I can. Got some Novatec hubs I've built onto some wheels a while back, they are F482 on the back I am *fairly* sure (they are the unstickered pair job lot ones that BDop were doing a while back and therefore 10 speed).
I've consulted this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNUpXfwjaWI (Instruction Novatec F482SB-SL Easy3in1 to Campy) which is all cool so I set about doing this however there was no washer on the NDS that I could see (I have taken these to pieces before and have seen the washers with my own eyes!). I happened to have one of these washers lying around so put it on the DS as per the video. It's all gone back together very nicely so I am hopeful. The only thing is that the dish is now out (I guess I should've checked beforehand) but pretty sure it wasn't this far out, suggesting the DS spokes need tightening to correct it.
As a final twist, this Campag freehub that I just *happen* to have lying around is off a PowerTap wheel I bought a while back and converted to Shimano (using a Novatec freehub hence why I have the washer etc) - I am making the reverse logical step therefore that this Campag freehub should work on the Novatec hub. Incidentally I had to correct the dish on that wheel so the dish issue doesn't strike me as outlandish.
Phew, got it? So, questions are: should this freehub work? What's with the washer? Was there a reason it wasn't there? Should I have put one in or left alone? There is no play in the freehub and it went back together all good, although I haven't checked if the width of the axle is correct or anything which I am dumbly assuming might be affected if a washer is where it shouldn't be.
Anyone got any thoughts?? Anyone still reading???

There are end cap difference between shimano and camp freehubs. just fit the campag freehub and redish the wheel. You can try the washer to correcgt the dish but you still may have to re dish.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0
