Which dropper for Bossnut

Hi all, im looking to get a reverb dropper post for my Calibre Bossnut and need a little advice on sizing. I know my seatpost is 30.9mm so that dimension is sorted and im goin for a 125mm travel but the dimension i need a hand with is the overall length. My current seatpost is 350mm so would it b best to go for the 30.9mmx380mmx125mm reverb? There is also a 420mm option. I know it may sound pretty obvious to some of you but i want to get the right one. Im thinkim 380mm should b fine as i never have my seat really heigh anyway. Also ive heard that i may need a new seat clamp. Is that usually the case?
Thanks
Chris
Thanks
Chris

Measure up, how much total seatpost do you have showing when in the pedalling position?Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

So when in the pedalling position i have 130mm of seatpost showing.
Crazyjenkins01 - I cant recommend this bike highly enough to be honest. Its such a confidence inspiring ride, suspension was nice and easy to set up with recommended psi on the front forks as a guide. Nrakes needed a slight bleed straight out the box but thats no big deal. I havent replaced the pedals yet but will do eventually as the supplied ones arent too grippy but again no big deal. You wont regret buying one, i love mine0 -
Thanks Lowe. Not entirely sure on the looks but the reviews go nuts for it, and I'm really budget restricted at the moment but I'm really thinking I wanna go to full sus now. I got Nano-x pedals (great value!) which I'll swap over and a KS eTen dropper which should slot in nicely!Bossnut - http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=13069531

Where are you measuring from (it should be from top of seattube to saddle-rails)? That sounds short. A 125mm drop Reverb actually needs 195mm of extension. This table has all the relevant measurements for the most popular droppers (and the CB Kronolog). You're basically looking at 'G' to start with.

Seconded, 135mm is crazy short (frame too big unless you have strange proportions (erm like me!).Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Ah my mistake not 130mm i meant 180mm in the pedalling position. My bad!0

Crazyjenkins - how do you find the KS Eten? Ive read sum good and bad reviews but for the price it seems like a good choice inatead of the more pricey Reverb?0

Hi all recently purchased a Bossnut and fitted a Giant contact SL dropper seatpost.from the link below.
https://www.h2gear.co.uk/122637/product ... tpost.aspx
I went for the 125 mm drop which was perfect for me .Everyone is different you just have to measure how much post you have showing out of the seat tube and go from there,
One tip if you do buy the Giant contact SL and fit it yourself is that it is stealth and external compatible,For the Bossnut you need it in external mode so you will need to check what it arrived defaulted to mine was in stealth mode so it had to be disassembled and the plunger tuned upside down and reassembled which for me was a little frustrating as I like instant!
once done it was easy to fit and works perfectly.
I also fitted some new Boardman pedals which I find perfect for me and they seem very strong as I hit a short tree stump hard today which had me instantly off the bike and there was no damage to the pedal just my pride .

A great bike for the price
At the moment I ride in Haldon Forest 5 days a week with my dogs I can't recommend Haldon enough it's got a trail to suit everyone.

I'd guess in the last 10 months he's got it sorted!
Welcome to the forum though, but best not to use google to find a thread to add to!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
Lowebee - The eTen is good for a budget option, and did me really well to get something on there! I am finding it slow now though, I need a faster actuating post now. I had a Lev on a demo bike and thats my next target I think.Bossnut - http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=13069531
