Time to replace my shoes (again) and have two manufacturers and models in mind. Unfortunately, there are no local dealers near to me to go try them on or give them the once over. I'm looking at the Spiuk Z16RC and the Northwave Evolution Plus. Colour I haven't decided on and am just interested whether anyone has either and whether they are a wide or narrow fit, any faults and do the Northwave ones come with the Speedplay adapter as standard or is it an additional purchase.
I should add that I can't find any on line reviews of the Northwave shoe.

I've been wearing an older pair of Spiuk (ZS11) for a couple of years. In terms of sizing, they're almost identical to Converse trainers, to give a fairly common comparison. I find them a little narrower than Shimano or Specialised. Really nice, comfortable shoes, have stood plenty of abuse, and very stiff in the sole. The older style buckle was fragile, but I've replaced them with the ZS15/16 style which is much more robust. Obviously, that doesn't apply to BOA versions, but spares weren't particularly difficult to find once I went direct to the UK/Ireland distributor.
I'm thinking of replacing them this summer, with ZS16 in the frame, with a half-notion for Fizik RxB or Giro Empire, depending on price and colour availability (all my gear is black/white and green). I was also considering Planet X, but reviews are extremely scarce.0 -
Shoes are very personal and, whilst divisive, I cannot speak highly enough about the Shimano R171.

Only interested in the two mentioned and would never go back to strap and ratchet buckle after boas. Previously used DMT but their current range don't do it for me look wise.I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.0

Am I right in thinking that the spiuk shoes are the same as the PX shoes? So might be worth looking at those too.0

They do look similar, although not identical, and a pair of PX/Carnac MTB shoes I bought for my missus bore more than a little resemblance to my older Spiuks, just not quite as well finished and with cheaper hardware.
If anything, they look like they might actually be the semi-mythical "out of the same factory"0 -
Gone for the Northwave's simply for the Speedplay simplicity, but the Spiuks did come close.I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.0
