Commuter bike

Evening,
I am going to be buying a bike to commute to work which is around a 25-30 round trip likely on the road or along the beach which is mostly smoothish concrete with the odd bit of gravel. It has a few hills on route but nothing major. Anyway my work are doing a cycle to work scheme upto a value of £1000 and would like advise on what to get please. These are the ones I have been looking at:

I’m looking at something like this myself. I am no expert though, I destroyed my commuter on salty roads with poor maintenance. With the salty sea air the belt drives might me a good idea. …0

Hub gears are a bit marmite, they are heavier and have an awkward gap between some ratios, also the belt drives don't last as long as they like to claim, but if you 'get it' people then love them.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
