Hi - the usual newbie post
I'm an unfit, overweight, middle aged woman who wants to get back into cycling. I last rode properly about 20 years ago when I had a Marin mountain bike which I loved and did many miles on. I'm now living a few mins from a great canal track, and having been down it once on my hybrid type bike, quickly realised I need something with suspension and fatter tyres!
Initially it will be for the potholed canal track, but would like to venture to actual trails once fitter. I would love some advice on which of the following would be suitable - also welcome any other suggestions. How are Marin rated these days and am I likely to get one in my budget range?
Many thanks
Budget of about £400-550 and currently looking at the following.....

I doubt if you can get a new Marin to compare with with the spec. Of those the Hoodoo is the best value IMO. Best fork and bits.
Just get a more lady specific saddle if necessary.
Although cheapy picked up for £30 for my girlfriend to use, complete with original tyres (and probably the air in them as well) just for nostalgia.
I don't do smileys.
