Require new paid of SPD shoes, tried the Halfords HBH size 11 but it's still too small. Good price too :-(
Say... That's a nice bike..

Come on, if you want us to do your online shopping for you, we need an idea of your budget! And do you mean SPD as in 2 hole MTB type cleats?

Do you want MTB type footwear with chunky tread? Happy with the trainer look-alike touring shoes? Prefer a touring shoe so it takes a 2 bolt cleat but looks more roadie? Is a stiff sole essential? etc etc.

Trid the Aldi ones. Very flexible sole, and loose around the ankle

Yeah, those are the ones I meant, not the MO88. Two fittings mind, wide and normal on CRC.

Shimano RT 32 or 33 spd road touring shoes. Stiff and comfortable and able to walk in properly. Good quality wish I'd found them before I got some HBH ones for my first pair, you learn by your mistakes.

What's wrong with those HBH shoes?

Or you can take a look at a big chunk of the discount shoe market in one go :D

Since I can't go and have a try on with those shoes I've put my SPL-SL pedals from the road bike on the work bike, and I'll just use the SPL-SL Shimano shoes till they are worn out- then look for new regular SPD and SPL-SL shoes.

I've had my Shimano touring shoes RT33 for 3+ years now, still going strong with every day use. Less than £40. Well worth it. Easy to walk in, don't stink when they've got wet.

I found that once the HBH shoes had been wet a few times even though they dried out ok they stunk like cat pee. Seems after posting on here that a few different shoes get the same problem. Had no similar problems with my shimano ones or lake ones even though they get the same treatment as the HBH ones. Couldn't fault them other than the smell problem. What's wrong with Velcro.

Velco wears out as I'll be upto four times everyday. My Shimano SPL-SL have velco but only the two lower ones, the upper is ratchet so I don't need to undo the velco to put them on/off.

After living with a ratchet for a year I'm inclined to go back to velcro, the ratchet is a PITA, and I worry about breaking it.

BOA is where it's at, then velcro, then ratchet. I've got some specialized MTB shoes I've had for 7 or 8 years that are velcro and still going strong.

My Nike touring shoes must be 10 years old and the 3 velcro straps still work perfectly. I'm not so confident a plastic ratchet would've lasted as long...
