Archetype Decals

Had my new hand builts out for maybe just the 3rd time yesterday and the first time on dirty roads.

When washing them after, with hot soapy water and a sponge (fairy liquid), some parts of the decals started to rub off.

Anyone familiar with this occurrence??

Unusual, you must have rubbed pretty damn hard...

Had one of the letters on my new rim lifting very slightly right by a nipple hole so put superglue over the letter and spread it over the edges and let dry before I did anything more with the rim.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

I'm pretty certain that's not the case. More of a rinse than a wash.

I'm now thinking the water might have been too hot??

You could always carefully repaint them with some TipEx.

I quite understand why the manufacturer might prefer the decal to remain in place - it may positively affect sales or brand awareness.

I'm not at all sure why an owner would mind, one way or another.

Some of my rims have garish decals on them. Some have long-since peeled away, partially or fully.

I cannot say that the absence of a decal has ever negatively impacted the pleasure of a ride or the joy of ownership of a bicycle. I may be in the minority.

Whilst an absent decal wouldn't worry me, a half on half off peeling decal on a new set of wheels would irritate me.

Ride your bike, when the wheels go around fast all the decals magically disappear anyway.

    Magic

That's based on the well known fact that no cyclist cares what their bike looks like!!

Have had my Archetype rims for almost 3 years - just took a quick look and the decals are as good as new, so suspect you've been unlucky
