rear wheel and cassette

My back wheel was stolen with my 8 gears cassette so I had to replace it.
Since that new wheel and cassette, my bike doesn't ride as nice as it used to, it's hard to explain the difference but it feels like I have to pedal more to go the same distance. Could it be that the cassette is the problem?
I paid a lot of money for that new wheel, I didn't go for something cheap.

Tight wheel bearings? Brake block against the rim? Wheel misaligned and rubbing on chainstay?0
