...ideally less then £200.
I want to replace my cranks to make them shorter - 165mm. I accidently got them on my commuter and it's so much more comfortable.
However, I can only find one 6700 standard ultegra chain set in 165mm on eBay for £148 and then I need to buy the left crank too for £50.
This is plainly ridiculous. So any advice on how to get them at an affordable price?

Yeah so presumably after getting that i need the other crank?
I'm struggling to work out why it's so expensive.0 -
They come with both arms. But there is scope for adding the third in and moving all of them to 12, 4 and 8 o clock positions. Then you can swap thirdic motion as you see fitMy blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

It's like April Fools here...
You must be very sensitive to Change Ric - I accidentally rode a bike with odd length cranks for months before I noticed.0 -

I asked the Q about the left crank cos I never saw it in the pics!
Been there - done that in the past... I think it's down to a very literal bent of mind. Weirdly, you may well find that 6800 are available as/more cheaply. They'll work just fine with 10spd.
I've also just ordered a set of 165 cranks, to see it they alleviate the symptoms of a an old knee injury that has recently started making it's presence felt again. Not sure that short cranks are only for short legs though ; didn't Wiggo use them at one time ?0 -
As above, look for 6800, probably more readily available and cheaper. This also opens up the semi-compact option. Works fine on a 10speed/6700 setup.0
