Hello,
is it possible to put road derived chain rings on a mountain bike, something like 39 x 28 and also put a Dura Ace road cassette on 11/12 - 28,as i wont be going off road much, probably some hard packed trails or canal paths ,but i find the bike that comfy i thought i might as well set it up for the road.
Thanks for looking

As long as the BCD is the same as the cranks, yes. Road cranks might not work as they will be narrower. But MTB rings come in those sizes - big ring on a 3x is often 42 or 44, so why not use those. Road cassettes will fit up to 9 (or 10) but after that too modern for me to know.I don't do smileys.
