Hi guys.
Just bought a second hand reverb, just wondering is there meant to be a tiny bit of oil come out when depressed then raised? Like a little ring above the wiper seal?
Cheers

Mine's brand new and doesn't leak any oil. Previous owner may have applied oil to the shaft as part of maintenance and to keep the seal lunricated and it may just be the residue?0

I've wiped it off a few times and it keeps coming back... Is it leaking or is it meant to happen?0

Sounds like a seal has gone.
Just like forks and shocks - you don't want leaking.m-trax ti 1000- back when i was rubbish.
evo 8 - i am continuing to be rubbish.0 -
Mine didn't do that after two years. Possibly a bit more serious than wiper seals thoughTransition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Could just be that the previous owner filled the foam-ring with oil before selling. If a seal really had gone oil would be more likely to pish out the bottom of the post (it's not sealed there) than migrate up the shaft and out past the wiper. It's also likely that an oil leak would be accompanied by the post sagging when sat on it. If none of this is happening I'd not be all that worried.0
