Campag 8/9 speed chainring compatability

Anyone know if campag 8 speed chainrings are compatible with 9 speed? I've got some vgc 8spd chainrings from somewhere in the midsts of time and a 9spd chainset with worn chainrings (the inner in particular) - could I put the 8spd ones on the 9spd cahainset? And would they be ok with a 9spd chain?
