brake lever play

Why would there be more play with my rear brake lever than my front?
The lever nearly touches the handlebar whilst the front stops halfway?
Anything I can do to adjust it?
Thanks

You can adjust cables, span adjuster, bleed the brakes, check pad wear.

Depends on which type of brake you have.

    The most common reasons -
    Pads have worn down,
    Brake needs bleeding.

I assume when you say 'play' you mean 'travel'.

Have a look on YouTube and ParkTools for videos showing how to sort out both conditions.
