Changing Brake Caliper.

Hi guys.

If you shorten your brake pipe for example you leave the caliper in place and shorten from the lever end, add new olive and insert but the lever is always higher than the caliper so you shouldn't have to bleed the brakes.
So if I fit a pair of Shimano M447's but at a later date replace the M447 caliper with a M 610 caliper should I take the whole lot off and hang the caliper and do it in reverse?
So I'm asking really if I want to keep the levers and pipe and just change a caliper whats the best way to do it?

Cheers

most people still need to bleed the brakes after shortening the hose.

just change the caliper and bleed.

If you change a calliper (or lever) the new one won't be filled, so you need to bleed the system, just shortening a hose is clearly different.
