hi all

I'm a paid-up member of the "wide feet, high arches" club, and need more insole support in my otherwise fine Northwaves

Any recommendations on suitable insoles? Thanks in advance

It's just a hill. Get over it.

If you have a Specialized concept store near you you can try Specialized footbeds. Personally I didn't find even the highest option to offer enough support. I recently bought some G8 insoles, which while hideously expensive are absolutely perfect for me. You can adjust the arch support over time to recover collapsed arches and fine tune the front/back position to suit the foot.
  • I use the specialised green insoles and they have solved all of the issues I have had with arch support and hot points etc.. I have used them with a variety of shoe brands, currently Northwave

I have similar feet to you -super feet yellow insoles work for me ( in Shimano wide shoes).
  • I use sole heat mouldable ones in my wide fit bonts - I was finding after three months or so the arch softened so last set I filled in the arch with resin putty and its stayed up really well. Like the look of g8s though but not tried them.

Keep it Northwave and get theirs?
They come with three different arch supports.

If you want the real thing then have a look at these:

Not cheap but work well for me following plantar faciatis.

I use them in all my walking and running shoes plus ski boots BUT not in cycling shoes. The lack of impact seems to keep the cycling OK.

I have these G8's in both pairs of cycling shoes and highly recommend them

Im with you on the wide feet but I have low arches and a slight over pronation when running. Put some Sorbothane insoles in an cannot fault them, fit is like a glove just replaced my normal insoles with those.
