Wheel upgrade

I'm looking at upgrading the stock wheels (Shimano RS010) that came with my Cannondale Super Six. Simply put, I'd like something a bit lighter and a bit faster without breaking the bank. Researching the reviews on wiggle suggests Campagnolo, Fulcrum and Shimano are popular volume choices but where does someone like Pro Lite rank in the general scheme of things?
I'm 53 and unlikely to get any younger, I'm 88kg and not likely to get much lighter. I do 40-50 mile training rides and 4-5 sportive/charity rides a year. My budget is 250-450. I'm not a "boy-racer" anymore (ever?) so don't go much on looks (although black would match the bike)
I've been researching for weeks in anticipation of the annual bonus being confirmed and have "shortlisted" the following:
Campag Neutron Ultra
Shimon RS81 C24
Pro Lite Bortola A21
But what do I know....
Any advice would be appreciated
Sean

Are you a member of British Cycling? If so use chain reaction for a 10% discount whatever you decide to get. I've just got some fulcrum racing 3 's from there.0

Does that bring them in line with wiggle pricing?
Have looked at British Cycling for insurance but not so much for discounts0 -
The RS81s are nice but old tech now with narrow rims, Zondas would be very comparable but can be harsh. Fulcrum 5lg appear to be a good all round bet, all things considered...
no wheel is going to be tangibly faster but any of those on your list will feel nicer than the RS10s which are functional but a little leaden.0 -
Your budget will allow you to consider several well regarded handbuilt options from suppliers such as The Cycleclinic

I have just ordered a set of the above since I weigh in a closer to 90kg. 28F/32R spokes should cope with my weight OK
Another option is Spokesman wheels - something like this would be a good bet

For your top budget figure you could look at these

I have a set of Moonglu disc wheels and can vouch for their build quality.0 -

Thanks for the various suggestions, I will follow them all up with interest.
Good point Bobbinogs - as long as the upgrade makes your ride "feel" better, it is surely worth doing (certainly at the relatively modest price level I am talking about). Were I to be considering an much higher level of investment, then I would expect a definite tangible improvement.0 -
For your Budget and for what you are doing I wouldn't bother until you have worn your current wheels out.
Failing that get Campag Zondas and stick some 25mm tyres on them.0
