Hello all,
I was recently proposed a 2005 Trek Madone 5.9 frame set for $400 dollars. It is in mint condition, I am actually curious to know if it was ever ridden.
Granted that it is in good condition, it is still 11 years old. In your opinions, is this a deal to jump at?
If so, would there be any issues with "modernising" it during the build? Say, for example, I wanted to get crazy and throw on a Dura Ace Di2 group (little risk of that but just curious).
I really like the look of the frame, the price seems right given the condition and I am looking for a project to make a really nice high end build over time. Would it seem too ridiculous to put very high end components on an 11 year old frame?
What do y'all think? I am anxious to know.
