So I've deiced that I want a hardtail, and have £1000 to do so, can anyone recommend a good one? I want to do trails, etc?
I've been looking at the specialized rockhopper expert 29, any good?
Any other suggestions would be appreciated

Generally big brands offer bad value at this level but links help - who knows what bits it has, which shops can you use, what are trails?I don't do smileys.

The boardman looks good, but from research I seem to be finding that £1000 will get you a really great hardtail but only an average full sus?
The Specialized I was looking at is https://www.specialized.com/gb/gb/bikes ... -29/106299 looks good but only has 100mm of travel yet is marketed as a trail bike?0 -
Very mediocre. Basic spec, you can do better at half the price at Halfords, Decathlon, Go Outdoors etc.
Both are better. Much better for £699, and great at your £1000 budget.

I've got the 26" (rafal 740) version which I'm very happy with; and you'll have £250 to fritter away afterwards!0 -
