Hi everyone

My current set up is a 10 speed Ultegra 6700 with a 12-30 cassette on the back.

I would like to have a 32t cassette on the back.

Can I do one of the following:

1. Buy a 11 speed ultegra 6800 cassette and not install one of the sprockets?
2. Buy a SRAM PG1070 12-32 10 speed cassette?

As usual, all replies appreciated.

  • SRAM 10 speed cassettes fit the same freehub as 10 Speed shimano ones so that would work as long as your dérailleur has the capacity spare Not sure about the other option

Yes I think he would struggle if he cannibalised an 11 speed cassette. The 11-speed cog spacing will be different across the block from a 10-speed and may not match with the indexing pull of a 10-speed shifter. Could work but not ideally I reckon

There is also the 4700 CS-HG500-10 11-32T, though you will need to check the capacity of your RD.
