Pedal change

Hi guys,
Bought myself a second hand bike today for commuting and wanted to change the pedals from the SPD pedals that came with it to some platform pedals. Left side came off fine. Right side was stiff but eventually got it loose. The problem is that on the right side I can turn the spanner round and round easily enough but it doesn't want to unscrew. I guess there's a problem with the threading, any ideas to help?

Sounds like you've stripped the thread, might be easier to look for a new crank arm rather than faffing out with an insert.Advocate of disc brakes.0
