Fork offset help

Right, so I'm looking to upgrade my Rockshox Revs, to the new Yari (as I can't really afford the pike) I like the looks of them too, only problem is, I can find online that my Trek Remedy 7 for 2014 (650b model) runs a 51mm offset on the forks, but from what I can find online the 650b yari is a 42mm offset.
What I want to know is what sort of difference will that offset make if I went for the forks??
Please move this thread if it's in the wrong section..

Worth a read,

Basically a shorter offset will make the bike a little calmer/more controlled to ride so probably a good thing to be honest.0 -
