Klein Quantum Pro

Here's my recently-finished Quantum Pro. It was a year-long project to scratch a retro-ish itch.
I bought the frameset about a year ago. It was originally finished in Jade Chameleon but the paint had seen better days, so off it went to the paint shop. I was split between Gator or Moonrise, and only made my mind up at the last minute.
Build-wise, it was a bit of a challenge and took longer than a modern bike, but I think it's been worth it and makes a nice change from my other carbon-framed bikes.

• Brakes: Campagnolo Record dual pivot
• Cassette: Campagnolo Chorus
• Saddle: Fizik Antares Vs

The paintwork is stunningleft the forum March 20230

The pics don't really do the colours justice - in daylight it's really bright0
-
Awesome, love the paintjob
How much did that set you back?0 -
The frame was £150. Repaint was approx £450.
Everything else somewhere around £500 (all second hand)
All in, around £1100.
£1600 if you include the wheels, but I already had those.0 -
Love it! Classic.0

I was expecting this to look "quite nice." I was wholly unprepared. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Absolutely stunning.
I was reading the blurb without seeing the pics and didn't understand what you meant about the respray and scrolled down with trepidation at it being monotone, but my god it looks amazing.0 -

Fabulous paint job on a beautiful bike.
Well done0 -
Really really nice!0

It's (slightly) retro to those in the know but also manages to look surprisingly modern. You've done a great job there.0

I lusted after Klein's so much as a kid. I wish they'd bring the brand back, especially now higher end alloy has had something of a resurgence lately.
Yours looks amazing by the way.0 -

I remember drooling over one like this in an LBS back in the late 90s. Still want a Klein of some sort, am keeping my eye out. Just gorgeous detailing.Open One+ BMC TE29 Seven 622SL On One Scandal Cervelo RS0

Who did the paint job :!: :?:0 -
Thanks for the comments all!
@Carbon overlord - I sent the frame over to Etoe in Germany. They're renowned for Klein paint and did an amazing job.

I was just going to say I have never seen a Quantum Pro in Sunrise before, or is it Moonrise? That explains it
Very nice.0 -
Its Moonrise, and not surprising you haven't seen one - it's a '99 frame in a '94 colourscheme, with '01 graphics.
Not one for the retro purists, but it's what I wanted.0 -
Here's my old Quantum Sunrise, still sad I ever sold it
