Hi All, new forum user so thought I'd say hello.
Fairly new to MTB, live in Plymouth and ride around home, Haldon at Exeter, Lanhydrock and will get to Cardinham eventually!
Have picked up a bit of help from just reading through for a while so thanks for that.
Happy riding
Tom

Thanks Rookie, I've seen your posts dotted around and seem to have resurrected your Carrera thread as well! I didn't realise when the last post was put up
I'm hoping there's some others on here from around my area. Need some riding buddies!Bossnut - http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=13069531

Hello. My favourite trails are in Devon, Tavi Woodlands and Gawton. I can also recommend the lovely nurses at Tavistock MIU.
Devon is underrated as an area for mountain biking. I really want to try Dartmoor for an xc epic.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
Post in the rides forum to try and find some rides, otherwise facebook or Strava can help you hook up with locals.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Thanks for the advice Rookie. I've already joined the Exeter club but haven't had a chance to get out with them yet.

Gawton is amazing. Proper steep and rocky. Only really two trails to ride on a trail bike though. Super Tavi is really tech and much better on a downhill bike that let's you hold enough speed to get the high lines in to the steep switch backs. Egypt was built by a mad man. You will want a full face helmet and armour for Gawton.
If you're relatively new to mountain biking I'd recommend visiting Tavi Woodlands first. It's not quite as mental!Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
Thanks for the heads up RM, I'm still new and not so fit or fast so I'd be taking it easy anyway! Plus I've only got a hard tail arm so Tavi woods it is thenBossnut - http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=13069531
