I'm running an On-One 456 Evo2 frame at the moment and now I'm looking for a frame which is lighter and slacker. I'd really appreciate any help that people can give me in finding a new frame.

My new frame needs to fit these criteria:
-Fit 140-150mm suspension
-Hardtail
-1/8th straight head tube
-16"-18" frame size
-Slack angle(want a bike better for mtb tricks)
-Aluminium( or very light steel)
-Ideally fit 27.2 seat tube
-Needs to fit 26" wheels....(can you run 26" wheels on a frame designed for 27.5" wheels????)
-Also something relatively cheap(under £300)
(also don't mind if it's secondhand)

I wouldn't limit yourself to a straight head tube, get one to take tapered and use an adaptor on your forks, then if you need to change in the future you can run tapered as decent forks in straight are disappearing now.

Why 27.2 seat tube, firstly I wouldn't compromise the frame for the sake of a few quid seatpost, secondly a shim is only a fiver (or less)

You can run 26" wheel in a 27.5 frame, you'll lose 13mm of BB height though, which on a slack (and probably long and low) frame could be an issue.

You say you want to do tricks but for that you want a specific dirt jump frame, not a slack trail frame with long forks.
There aren't really any frames slacker and lighter than the 456 frame, they're either slacker or lighter.

Agreed, the Stanton Slackline for example deliberately has a steeper head angle so it can double up for some dirt jumping duties, and that is pretty much the same weight as a 456 frame (2.56Kg).

The Ragley Marley is an obvious option, 65.5 on a 130 and will take a 140 (so 65 ish), just over 2Kg for the Ally frame (so slacker and lighter than an 456 EVO), space up for 27.5.

Looking for a new mtb frame to decrease my bike weight....
    Preferably aluminium
    Tapered or straight head tube
Ideally 26" wheels, although 27.5" isn't an issue
    Quite slack angles
Ideally 27.2 seat post, although larger seat post again isn't a huge issue
    Ideally 73mm BB
    IDEALLY UNDER £250
(I currently have a 26" wheelset, 27.2 seatpost, 73mm BB and 150mm forks--getting new components to fit new frame isn't huge issue though)
Very grateful of any buying advice people have to offer, thank you!

Can you fit forks with a tapered steerer to a straight 1-1/8th head tube? Is there some kind of adapter? Thanks

It would help to stick with your existing threads, that is 2 asking the same question (which you don't appear to have bothered going back to).

In summary, maybe, a traditional external cup headset, no, if its a 44mm headtube using a semi integrated headset then yes. Those are the two main standards likely to apply, the 456 Evo2 you mention in the other threads is a traditional frame so no you can't.

If the frame has a 44mm head tube you can fit an external 1.5" bottom headset cup.
