Can I do any better than this on a budget for my 30th?

Background - had the one bike since I was 17, Edinburgh Bike Co-op Alu job which has had everything replaced over time bar the seat post collar (I think). Currently shod in 105 5700, ITM bits and pieces, Fulcrum 5's, Selle Italia Flite and Michelin Pro 4 Endurance.

Upcoming 30th in the summer and having recently gotten the bike bug back (joined a club last year, aim to do at least 100 miles each week), thought it appropriate to relegate the trusty steed to wet weather and commuting duties.

However, I am no dentist, so ain't in superbike territory. Current favourite is a Ribble (can't get up to the equivalent Rose or Canyon really) and anything off the shelf usually has kack own brand finishing kit, saddle, tyres etc. which I would be wanting to replace fairly sharpish at extra cost anyway.

Looking at Gran Fondo (prettiest and looking at Sportive geometry really), any threads on here always give good rep bar the rear hanger issue a few years ago.

Full Ultegra 6800
Full Deda zero100 finishing kit
Selle Italia Flite flow Team Issue
RS10s (which would go on the wet bike, Fulcrum 5s on this)
Vittoria Open Corsa CX
Decent bar tape

Chuck in some 6800 pedals, bottle cages and some latex tubes, 1400 all in.

Anything beat it?

Not Ultegra but 5800 105 is pretty much as good as Ultegra but 200g heavier. with the spare £300 you could invest in some better wheels and keep the set it comes with for winter training. Nothing against Ribble as I have one but the Cannondale is a better bike (I have one of those too!)

This looks a great package. A bit over budget on the face of it but if you get a British Cycling membership for 30 odd quid you can get another 10% off that price.

Very positive review on Road.CC this week.

54cm Supersix Evo is still £1299 on Pauls.

    Yes, this one w/ Ultegra.

    Thankfully I'd need a 56, so saved myself £1300 (well £1299).

But, for the OP, if this fits then this is what I'd probably be buying. That colour is just brilliant!

Although he did specify endurance geometry, hence the Synapse recommendation.

Here's one more vote for the Synapse. I've got the Ultegra version but if 105 is anywhere near as good as they say it would be worth every penny and, as Cam says, leave a little left over for better wheels and / or tyres (or anything else you fancy). Fantastic bike all round - I just can't speak highly enough of mine.

SSE deal is one of the best around, might be borderline for a 54 though being 6ft. A set back seatpost and a stem would be a small outlay, for ultimately a far better frame? Not too fussed on definitely having sportive geometry, just don't want to have to end up with a stack of spacers to get comfy.

Think 54 would be a bit small for you. You're probably between a 56 and 58 at 6ft. Is there a Cannondale dealer near you where you could go and have a try?

Agree with this - I know we are all different shapes but I'm 6'1" and a 56cm is spot on for me (with a bit of room to adjust in either direction). The idea of trying one for size in a store is good - somebody might correct me if I'm wrong but I think this current Synapse Carbon design has been unchanged since the 2014 model so any recent one will give yo an idea of fit.
