Tyre size questions re Boardman mx comp

Hi, can anyone tell me what the max tyre width is that I can put on a Boardman mx comp?

As standard it comes with Schwalbe Tyrago Kevlar Guard, 700c x 37c... and I'm interested in using a wider tyre.

    That's about 1 1/2 inches - check how much clearance you have but I'm sure around a 29 x 2.00 or so will be fine.

    The front will take a wider tyre no issue, circa 2" easily and probably up to a 2.15", the rear is a different matter, as CD says look at the space around the tyre and it will tell you how much room you have. Remember a wider tyre is also taller and the point of maximum width is further away from the wheel rim.

    Are about the best pics I can find online and suggests there isn't room for a much bigger tyre, maybe a 42 or 45mm at the rear.
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
