Currently looking at this bike for my son http://www.decathlon.co.uk/rockrider-52 ... 93188.html has anybody got any thoughts or opinions and how it compares to other bike at similar price?

Certainly very good value, but it is an entry level bike, which you'd expect at £250.. You could certainly do a lot worse.

Pretty decent for the price. Damped fork, hydraulic discs. All you need really.

It's not for myself trying to get my son into cycling I don't want anything to dear if he's not going to take it up and just sits in the garage getting dusty.

18 and sounds awful but could do with losing a couple of pounds guess we have all been there...
