Brake upgrade on Boardman TC from Tektro

Hi all,
the missus has a Boardman Team Carbon but complaining about poor brakes (Tektro ones). The bike has SRAM Apex as a groupset apart from the brakes.
I've been looking to putting some SRAM Force (or Rival?) brakes on there, do you reckon it'll make a lot of difference?
Any other suggestions welcome.
Thanks in advance.

Have you tried decent pads as a first step? Swisstop FlashPro are as good as it gets for standard alu rims. Failing that Koolstops (I found the duals worked well but Salmon would be good this time of year).0

Plus one for the kool stops. They're excellent.0

I had the same issue, I swapped from the Tektro's to Shimano Ultegra's. Braking went from bad to good. Also put better cables/new outers on. now the ultegra pads are done ive got koolstop pads in them and they are even better. a great upgrade IMO0

To be fair - I have Tektro dual pull on my hack bike and the brakes aren't too bad at all. I'd look at the pads before changing anything. And maybe look at how the cables are routed/assembled.0

Don't overthink it. Swap to Apex to match, get swiss stop pads. Bear in mind 2 pairs of pads is £17.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Thanks guys. I will try some pads and see how it goes.
Is there a big difference between Apex and Force brakes not considering the pads.?0 -
Looks like I need to get new brakes as the pads wasn't enough, apparently.
Could I fit a pair of Shimano brakes on a bike with SRAM groupset?0
