  • What sort of budget are you looking at? Osprey do some decent day packs but they are on the expensive side - are you after something with a hydration system included or just a general pack??

    Hi,
I'm looking for a lightweight day pack without a hydration unit and a decent quality lightweight water resistant jacket.
    Thanks

The Aktura Night Vision is a very popular waterproof jacket, I really like mine.

I have a Gore Path jacket. Being GoreTex Paclite it's 100% waterproof and impressively breathable. Would never have paid full price for it, but got it at a significantly reduced price in a Wiggle sale. Would recommend it.

Been very impressed with my Montane jacket for yeasr now. Can't recall name of it but it's very breathable Pertex lining is excellent, it's waterproof and packs up to a tiny size. Paid £80 in sale. Also surprisingly good in cold winds too.
