Think I'm in need of a new front light, current light Lezyne micro drive battery seems to be struggling to stay charged past 2 hours. Running other main lights, but I'll generally run a flash all year, so requirements;

Battery - must do at least 2 hours on suitable flash mode
USB chargeable ideally
Decent flash/strobe/pulse mode
Size - smaller the better as want to leave it on all year
Cost - sub £50. Ideally closer to £30

Cheers

An Exposure Trace definitely fits your requirements:

If you were happy with the Lezyne when new, the batteries are replaceable; I seem to remember CRC do them for somewhere around £15. As with pretty much anything rechargeable, the batteries only last a couple of years.
    Pannier, 120rpm.

I've had a few knogs before and never been that impressed. Good for the price... but never felt the light was that great (not had a blinder mind).

The Exposure looks a bit more suitable. Always good to have a battery level as a good reminder.

Ah didnt know battery was replaceable. Yeah the lezyne ok, the flash is a bit "boring" - get a bit of light envy seeing the pulses and strobes coming the other way - but it does seem to throw the light a fair way with a decent angle too.

    Thanks :)

I really like my trelock ls950, however it's slightly over budget at £60, it doesn't flash and it's not small. But the beam shape is great, it's bright, usb rechargable and on low the battery last about 40 hours.

  • Bit more, but the base See Sense Icon is now available as a standalone rather than a package.

Whats the moon 300 flash like? Love my moon on the rear... but is it more of a see light than a be-seen?

Flash is a must. Already got solid light on the bars and on the lid (freebie lezyne duo still going). I could stick that on flash but it annoys me, so leave it on solid.

What kind of bracket does the See Sense have? Handlebar space is a bit premium..... Interesting option tho.

Cheers - keep em coming :)

A big rubber band! Works well, it's horizontal across your bars mind. So you may not have room.

Works well on a headtube mind:

Exposure Trace. Especially at the price posted earlier at £35.

The moon is more of a see where you are going light. the flash is supposed to have a run time of 17hrs and is very bright! USB chargeable etc. Only thing I'll say is make sure you give it a blast on a mains charger now and then.

The see sense deffo won fit on my bars - thanks for the pic tho, need to check about fitting.

Think preferring the trace over the moon. Tho 17 hour battery on flash would be handy... hoping the commute is never that long tho :D
