I've just been looking around now for a few days and finally set my mind on one of these:
https://www.canyon.com/en-gb/mtb/spectr ... l-5-0.html £1600
Whilst checking out the delivery estimate it came back as Mid June, almost 4 months, I have a couple of weeks off work right now and would like something delivered in the next week!
Budget is £1500-2k, ideally would want a pike fork and RS Reverb post for the 2k budget
i.e. https://www.canyon.com/en-gb/mtb/strive ... l-6-0.html but this also has a waiting time of 2 months and is the higher end of my budget. Also not sure about this frame as the shapeshifter tech may just be more to go wrong :S
Any suggestions out there? Based in the Reading area

New Boardman sull susser has a Pike up front and at £1500 leaves enough to add a Reverb, not read any revues yet but the geometry looks good and it's well specced as you'd expect.

The Shapeshifter is causing Canyon (or at least Canyon owners) a lot of grief, many owners have been through 3, with 2 re-designs and a third on the way!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
TBH Geometry looks somewhat reserved IMO but bargain in terms of components0

Good suggestion - Great spec from the boardman actually, would have been extremely tempted but the colours are horrible in my opinion :shock:0

Who cares. You can't see it when you ride, and it's not a frock.I don't do smileys.

As you are in Reading is this any good:

Take a look at the Rose Uncle Jimbo. Similar value and geometry to the Spectral but more reliable and quicker delivery.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Do bike discount have anything in their Radon range which would tick all of the boxes?? They tend to have bikes in stock and most people seem to receive them in under a week!0

If you don't mind a 10 speed drivetrain have a look at bird bikes. The Aeris, can be specced with a pike and reverb for under £2000, plus they're based near Camberley so not far from you.0

Bird do 11speed in the Aeris or does that Push it over £2k?
Also @Rockmonkey wouldn't the Granite Chief be closer to the Spectral and Uncle Jimbo to the Canyon Strive. It's slightly slacker with a touch more travel - though I'm not sure there's much in it in terms of weight etc.
Radon Slide are good value but can come up a touch short. You might pick up a Trance under £2k with the spec you want.Family, Friends, Fantastic trails - what else is there

With pikes and a reverb it might just push the bird over 2k with the 11 speed drivetrain.0
