I have play in my front wheel. I've taken it a part as per the Shimano dealers manual DM-HB0003-04 as far as I can. I cannot figure out how to get the bearings out so some advice need on that.

And I thought Shimano still did loose race bearings rather than sealed bearings in their hubs, so the next question is how do you adjust the bearings if that is the case?

They are cup and cone, 11 3/16" ball bearings each side. Page 10 of that pdf document you refer to shows how to disassemble the hub with a 15mm cone spanner and 5mm hex Allen key. The hub does not appear to use the same knurled cone and cone holding tube as the HB-9000 and HB-6800 hubs, so adjust as for a regular cup and cone hub. Make the adjustment on the left side cone after slackening off the locknut as indicated. See also EV-HB-5800-3720A.pdf
