If those cities were the other way around I'd be even more envious!
You don't want to be in either one man, trust me. LA's dumb angelenos constantly trying to impress each other and land that invitation to that B celebrity mansion party where you have rivers of cocaine flowing. Everyone is an actor and everyone has an agent,it doesn't matter if they work at Starbucks. While Vegas...what can I say,it's all about who's the best backstabber that tries to get ahead of you to make a living. If you are a bit smart you can make a decent living in Vegas and that's what I did. Did not care about gambling and booze, but after 3 years I was fed up. The cream of the crop american lowest educated people live there. Conversations are kept to an incredible level of superficiality,it's just plain degrading. Weapons, cheap food, video poker, booze and bitches, worst healthcare in the nation, most obese city in America and I could go on and on. Again,I could not complain,I've lived in a nice and safe area close to work and a 24hrs supermarket, still when I came back to the good 'ol Europe it felt like I could breathe again...0 -

i happen to like angelenos!!!....good 'friends' with some female talent agents born and bred there actually...and actually like LA itself, even the phoniness, superficilaity and artificalness..loved it!...its another world to europe. does that make me an idiot? very probably!
as for LV, no i wouldnt want to live there for sure, that would ruin the allure but to be able to hop over from cali for the weekend a couple of times a month would be a awesome.0 -

Yeah LA is actually beauiful and it has a lot of riding opportunities too. And when you are in your 20ies and 30ies it's the place to be,just make sure you live a 24hrs life split between work, gym, shopping, clubbing, possibly all fueled a la American way with painkillers and anti depressants, because if you stop for a second and think what you're doing with your life you'll end up killing yourself.

Physically shouldn't be a problem but buy will he have saddle sores and this might end it. Obviously depends on the bike.0
-
As others have said having driven LA to Vegas, 7 hours in a car with stops the biggest issues will be the heat, dust and miles and miles of the same view0
-
OK, I'll be the first to say it. I don't give a sh#t.0

He should do it I'd say, broken down into manageable chunks.
Are there any rules? - He could ride at night when it's cooler, taking his breaks during the hottest part of the day, maybe draughting behind his support vehicle or rider.
Is his bike going to be checked for mechanical doping?0 -

but that's what the threads about! dan and the ride.0 -
Hasn't been formally announced yet but heard Dan completed this yesterday. With a team of helpers and what looks like a wind tunnel vehicle in front of him perhaps even I could have done this feat!
