What are the best 9 speed shifters, will be going on XT duralliers

  • Of what you can still get hold of new the XT M770 I'd guess, but they are fairly expensive at around £80 for a pair. Also I don't know why but it seems like as with the SLX M660's it's really hard to find both left and right, and anywhere that sells the set doesn't have have them in stock. You can get hold of Deore M590's easily for about £30, that's what I've gone for.
  • I have some Shimano Deore XT Rapidfire SL-M770 and they are great. Not sure you can get them new anyore though. You might get some good ones on ebay.
  • Look for some second hand XTR 970s. I have a set in the shed doing nothing, but don't want to move them on really.

    I like the SRAM Rocket shifters, not made anymore but still crop up used, prefer the double thumb action.
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
