Which of the below bikes would you choose?

http://www.genesisbikes.co.uk/bikes/roa ... e/delta-10
Both bikes can be had for the same price and it's a lot less than retail. Unfortunately the choice is between them and nothing else. I'm leaning more towards the rapide because of the spec but I reckon the genesis has a better pedigree..??

I wouldn't worry too much about pedigree as the same company makes both bikes but under different brands. For me, the Rapide looks to be a better purchase given the spec (give me Tiagra over Claris any day) and the 501's are decent starter wheels. However, I cannot see the price of the Genesis and the Rapide only is available in small. Those two factors may add up to more than anything else...0

I'd want the Genesis frame but with the Rapide specs! Sorry, a little unhelpful, but if it were me I'd get the Genesis and then find a way to upgrade it as cheaply as possible, as I just think that Rapide frame is a bit...meh?
But if you like the looks of the Rapide, then it's a no brainer really, given the components. The fact that it's RRP is £899 and the Genesis is £599, this is some indication as to the difference.0 -
Rapide all the way, the spec is excellent for the money. My feeling is that with the Genesis, it wouldn't be long before you'd want to upgrade it, probably starting with the transmission - I can imagine an 8-speed 11-32 being a complete pain in the @rse with such massive gaps between gears.0
