And new grips ...

Looking to replace the grips on my MTB, which are currently On One Lock-on grips.
Was just going to go like for like (I've always got on OK with standard rubber lock on grips), probably from Superstar, but is there any mileage in going for silicon grips? grippier? Softer / more comfortable? What are they like in the wet? I tend to always wear gloves when riding, even in summer (thin ones) - are silicon ones OK with gloves, or better without?
And I want orange ones!

Depends what you want from a grip and your usage, the Renthal grips with Kevlar are grippy as heck and don't wear very fast either, or you could go for something like a Ritchey WCS foam frip, nice shape, great to grip onto and very light. Lock-ons are convenient for sure, especially if you have controls that aren't split clamp.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

I was always a fan of Peaty grips from Lizard Skins but bought Race Face Half Nelson last time as I thought two clamps was overkill. They're thin but I've never had a problem with grip or them slipping.0

I generally end up back with Superstar.I don't do smileys.

I found Superstar grips wear quite quickly. I use ODI ruffian grips now and so far they have lasted nearly three times as long as my last Superstar grips.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Had superstars agree they wore quick, been using Renthal kevlars, like rookie said really grippy an no sign of wear, bolts seem to rust a bit though.0

Raceface Strafe grips,a bit larger diameter, they suit my larger hands a treat0

My SS Grinders are wearing really well, seemingly they are lasting ages. Super grippers though do wear fast and aren't really rotatable whereas Grinders will rotate to quite a few further positions and are only £7. Bargain if a bit sharp on the knobbles at first.0

I'm running esi chunky, I always wear gloves and they grip just fine. I also haven't had any grip issues in the wet and they're still looking in very good condition after almost a yearYT Wicked 160 ltd
