The discs on my CX bike are warped (and also scored in places  ) so I'm going to replace them. Running cable disc brakes, so just need something cheap and cheerful - any particular brand worth going for (or anything worth avoiding?!), or are they all much of a muchness?

Much of a muchness, Avid are decent quality and don't warp too often but are heavy, Alligator are light and cheap and I've had no issues (running 3 of them for 4 years!), A2Z are well priced and fairly light but with a full braking surface or if you need them Jagwire now do some sandwich disks like Shimano Icetech for a lot less money. (I have one unused if you are going that route that I don't now need).Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

How much would you be looking for it? Do you know the specific model - the (quick) search I did for Jagwire discs came up with loads of results for 'Jagwire Elite vented disc brake', and looks pricey, certainly more than I'm hoping to spend ...0 -
£25 delivered, it cost me £26 so I'll stand the delivery myself, brand new and unused, packaging opened is all.

I'll pass on the disc thanks Rookie - only looking to spend half that at the most ...0

Great discs I'm sure, but only looking to spend about half that - they're for my CX / commuter bike, with cable disc brakes (so don't work as well as hydro brakes, therefore no real need / benefit to spend more on ice-tech discs ... (or is there?))0 -
No, unless you are using it down big descents, there isn't any benefit.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Thanks POAH - Saw those, but they're only suitable for organic pads, and I tend to run sintered / semi-metallic. Will probably look at something like the Alligator Pizza, or the A2Z Teppan Yaki SP4, at around the £9-£12 price.0 -
Ignore the organic pad nonsense. I use though plus a variety of any pads and they last fine.I don't do smileys.

6 bolt? I just bought some of these:

Straight as a die, work as they are supposed to.0 -
That is stupid cheap. Unfortunately my 160mm bike is centrelock, and my 6 bolt is 203mm/180mm or I'd stock up.I don't do smileys.

Bargainacious!
Mine are centrelock too, but already have the adaptors. Worth getting a pair, if they're crap, I've not lost out much if I have to bin them! Cheers SS!0 -
Just bought a couple for the spares box, seemed rude not to.0

Unfortunately my centrelock are Red Metal and don't take adapters. None that I've found anyway.I don't do smileys.
