Maxxis High Roller II Tubeless Ready

Is anyone out there using the High Roller II TR tyres? The Dual Compound 60/62a EXO ones. I'm thinking of making the change from my current Schwalbe Nobby Nic's.
I'm running the NN's tubeless with Stans fluid on Stans Rims and to be honest they have been fine, most of the time, they can be a bit sketchy in damp conditions, but they are great in the wet.
The main problem though is the side-walls of the NN's have worn and gone quite porous, and I'm losing a bit of fluid. This is mainly on the rear and I put it down to running them with quite low pressures (F-23psi, R-26psi)
My only concern with the HR2's is the extra weight - 200g heavier than the NN's
The Tubeless HR2's come with EXO sidewall so they should be a bit stronger.
I'm mainly riding trail centres - especially Llandegla, so I need a tyre that is not too draggy on the climbs.
Does anyone want to talk me into buying them?

Nobby Nics are light because the sidewall is so thin which is why they wear through.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

I've got one on the front and, while it's probably not the best climber in the world, you certainly feel the benefit on the way back down. Makes the bike so secure at the front. All the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.

I have a Specialized Purgatory on the rear and mine has done the same - started to seep at the sidewall.
It's not a problem and hasn't lost so much pressure or fluid that I need to top up with air or fluid but I'd imagine it'll not get any better - only gradually worse. The Purgatory is also a light tyre with thin sidewalls.
I guess it's a case of what matters to you the most. Light tyre or tough tyre. I've always been a bit concerned about ripping the sidewall but to date it's not happened.
Minions are great tyres and 200g isn't huge although I also ride Llandegla a fair bit and fully understand why you'd want a light tyre that climbs well!0 -
Try the purgatory grid. Just as good but much tougher.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Snakeskin protection keeps the sidewall from cutting on the Schwalbe tyres.Paracyclist
