Decided I wanted something can can take a longer travel fork better than my Zaskar, so have got myself an 18" MK1 carbon 456. Basic spec is 2x9 XTR, Noir carbon cranks, Monkeylite xc carbon bars, Exotic ti/carbon post, Fizik Gobi ti saddle, XTR wheels, RS Revs, Rocket Ron tyres and Clarks M2 brakes (these are great for the money!).
Rides very nicely, smoother frame than the zaskar, and with well sagged 140mm forks, the geo suits me perfect. Not as light as before, but still about 22lbs.

Nice effort, tasty looking, but wouldn't 1x9 with an expander suite it better?Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Prefer the range of a double to be honest - and this set up is actually lighter than xt 1x11! And more range. 11-32 with 34/22 rings). Maybe xtr 1x11 in the future0

and bar end plugs :P0

Needs plugs - seen some horrifying crash victims lately on the old tinterweb - and white cables aren't sexy. But awesome all the same.
Nice one.Family, Friends, Fantastic trails - what else is there

They are first generation XTR - the spokes are bonded into holes in the side of the rim. Have proved very reliable.0

I've seen one in person. Not nice at all.
I'm sure bar end plugs saved my life when I got one in the gizzards. Still managed to rattle my giblets around and rupture my spleen without even braking the skin.
Nice bike :-)Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350
