Stage 1 highlights on Eurosport 2 now. What I can't quite understand is why there is an occasional musical soundtrack (in addition to Rob Hatch)
  • Ha I''m glad I'm not the only one that noticed that. There was a lingering shot of Nibali with what sounded like the Jaws theme in the background.

Whether we'll hear the banana splits when Cav comes on screen is another question

Loon, deejay, I was replying to Joel re his question about whether Porte had been training at altitude, not about acclimatising
That's so :- And I was replying to your "He's not. Flown to Oman from Oz." statement and that that flight covers 10 hours in Time Zones.

The answer was posted on the "My Man" thread 20 mins before you asked this question but the NFL season has finished and the SuperBowl is now up the hill in "Mile High Stadium"
I am very familiar with 8 hour Time Zones-Jet Lag when returning the many times from the West Coast (Pacific Time Zone) from such places as San Diego and Seattle.
Also visits to Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum for NCAAF USC Trojans games wearing a Trojan pullover. (well it gets chilly in the evening)

Great - now we will be back to hearing his chances in the spring classics being bigged up for the next few weeks

I stopped regarding EBH as a P-R or Flanders contender a good while ago. But given his confidence level from these early season results, plus a 10th place last year, I wouldnt be surprised to see him up there in MSR

They've got a decent team for the classics, have MTN. Farrar knows those roads well, Brammeier is a useful wild card too. If EBH gets his act together, I foresee top 10s. Maybe he's all in for Omloop again?

We all did - none of the regular commentators seem to have got the message!

Has any other rider wrecked as many PTP seasons?

Of all the threads in all the world, you had to bring Brou-ha-hanni into this one :)

Green mountain seems to have been tasty. Nibs takes the win. Nice to see Dumoulin and Kudus both up there too.

    No idea about the antipodeans.

You get the top 12 as I thought I may as well throw Pozzo into the mix.

Vincenzo Nibali (Ita) Astana Pro Team 4:25:48
Romain Bardet (Fra) AG2R La Mondiale 0:00:09
Jakob Fuglsang (Den) Astana Pro Team 0:00:12
Tom Dumoulin (Ned) Team Giant-Alpecin 0:00:18
Rui Costa (Por) Lampre - Merida 0:00:38
Merhawi Kudus (Eri) Dimension Data 0:00:43
    George Bennett (NZl) Team LottoNl-Jumbo
Brendan Canty (Aus) Drapac Professional Cycling 0:00:45
Floris De Tier (Bel) Topsport Vlaanderen - Baloise 0:01:08
Edvald Boasson Hagen (Nor) Dimension Data 0:01:10
Eduardo Sepulveda (Arg) Fortuneo - Vital Concept
Domenico Pozzovivo (Ita) AG2R La Mondiale 0:01:22
